Install HexMod CWES Muzzle Brake

The Gen2 HexMod uses differing thread pitches to allow you to install the Muzzle Brake without needing a crush-washer or jam-nut to properly level the brake.

It works on the basis of moving the muzzle brake threads (by using different thread pitches on the inside 24tpi/outside 32tpi of the bushing), relative to the shoulder of the muzzle, similar to the way a gun-smith faces the shoulder of the muzzle to attain proper levelness.

Shooting a High Powered Rifle creates a peak noise level that is damaging to the Human ear.

We recommend that all our customers take adequate precautions to prevent hearing damage while shooting.

We accept no responsibility for Hearing Damage caused while using any of our products.

HexMod CWES Gen2 installation:

1. Clear the Weapon!!! Installation on a loaded weapon can kill you.
2. Remove existing muzzle device/flash hider/thread protector.
3. With a stiff brush and gun cleaning oil, clean any carbon from the threads.
4. Thread the bushing completely onto the rifle with the relieved end towards the receiver.
5. Thread the brake onto the bushing until the brake stops against the barrel shoulder.
6. Snug the brake(snug means snug, not gorilla gripped) with a wrench or socket(1 1/8″). If the brake is level you are finished, if not proceed to following step.
7. Unscrew the brake enough to back the bushing off 1/8 to 1/4 turn and repeat step 6. 3/4 turn of bushing equals approximately 1/4 turn of brake.
8. It may take repeating the above steps until levelness is achieved, and if the bushing threads freely on the muzzle threads to the point of turning with the brake, you can apply enough High Temp Teflon tape to the muzzle threads so that, with your fingers, you can turn the bushing but it doesn’t spin with the brake.
9. Check alignment of rifle bore and brake bore. If there are any doubts that the bores are aligned properly, DO NOT SHOOT THE WEAPON, until you have confirmed alignment or rectified the misalignment.

You are now ready to check zero and adjust POA if necessary.

Note: The most you should ever have to back off the bushing is 1 and a half full turns

If there is ever any signs of damage to the brake, cease use until the brake can be checked for functionability.

Check with the Firearm Manufacturer whether the firearm is designed to be used with a Muzzle Brake

Never use SABOT or SHOTSHELLS in conjunction with a Muzzle Brake, or fireform with “cream of wheat” with brake installed

The propellant gases, including particles of unburned powder, dust and or moisture will be accelerated – exhausted sideways from the Muzzle Brake
